FBI want to audit Missouri's concealed carry licenses. Missouri say nope.

“We intend to follow Missouri law regarding the confidentiality of concealed carry weapons permit records and the records of firearms ownership,”

“Let me be perfectly clear,” Schmitt wrote in the letter. “Allowing federal agents from the FBI to have access to records of Missourians who have a permit to carry a concealed weapon violates Missouri law and infringes on our Second Amendment rights.”

I would think if it is a legitimate audit of some sort, all states.

Why start with Missouri? It's neither first nor last in anything I can think of. Population, alphabetically or geographically.

I cannot understand what justification the FBI might have for making such an atypical request. After all, they should be able to audit NICS requests remotely.
