Default V-22 Osprey over Woodland Park Friday?

We were camping this weekend near Woodland Park and we got two flyovers by a V-22 Osprey.

    Boeing: V-22 Osprey

I've never seen one in Colorado before. AFAIK only the USAF and USMC use these aircraft.

Flew very low over the area, probably less than 2,000' AGL.

It was gray but I couldn't tell if it was USAF or USMC marked (my guess would be USAF due to the proximity of Peterson and Schriever AFBs in CO Springs. Or maybe some kind of "demonstration" for the USAFA?

Anybody else see them? Very cool plane.

I have seen a few in Colorado Springs - I figure it was some sort of thing for the AF academy. And boy they are loud as crap when they are in "helicopter mode".

Two bases in New Mexico have them. Maybe it was to show off to recruits at the Academy?

Who knows? To quote my Army nephew, "Air Force is weird."

Those were USMC Ospreys that were here for high altitude training. They parked here at Peterson.

Most AF versions have a couple extra bumps and probes compared to the Marine version.

    Cool plane for sure.

I don't know much about planes, but I think I saw two of those V22s flying over my house today.

Are you near Tucson? The only other place I've seen V22's is around Davis-Monthan AFB. They were all over the place there (A-10s too.)

We are just south of the Air Force Academy. We see fighters, A10, V22, large prop planes, helicopters sporadically. Mostly we have tow planes and gliders.
