Default 'Springs science nerds: Quinn's "Science on Tap" presents Flat Earth!

"Science on Tap" happens at Jack Quinn's pub every second Monday of the month.

Except this month when it's on Monday, August 15th!

I've mentioned a few times on this board how I engaged with a local Flat Earth group running experiments, discussing evidence and examining data in an attempt to make them realize the error of their ways.

One of my compatriots was David Westmoreland, Ph.D., a science instructor at the Air Force academy.

This coming Monday (the 15th) David will be presenting "Three Years with the Flat Earthers" at Jack Quinn's "Science on Tap" evening. David and I as well as one other non-flat-earth believer worked shoulder to shoulder with this group for years designing and performing experiments in an attempt to prove them wrong.

It should be an entertaining evening and if you're interested in how someone could possibly believe the Earth is flat, David will explain exactly how that happens!

And even if you're not interested, there's always beer, so come on down!

Here's a link to the event:

That was an excellent youtube video! I sent it to David (tomorrow night's speaker) and he had already seen it.

I expect his presentation to be similar.

I'm sorry I missed it... just had too much going on tonight to be able to get away. I'd love to see more of these types of events though!

I have flown many many time over the pond. My eyeball tell me when I can look out the window and see the curvature of the earth, it isnt flat.

Somehow the shortest distance between Denver and Frankfurt/Munic is flying north over greenland / iceland. Basically 9 hours at around 600mph, or 5000 miles. If the earth was flat and a straight line is the shortest distance, the plane would fly over the east coast.

A few flights as a passenger and people can understand it by the route.

Beyond the curve on Netflix was hilarious.

Someone I work with despises flat earth theory, so just for fun, we walked around the office for 2 days with a 4ft level proclaiming everything flat.

Is the flat earth like pizza?

What is on the other side?

How thick is it? NY Thin Crust or Chicago Thick Crust? Maybe Beau Jo's?
