No the pedal is fine and the car brakes and stops normally. No squislyiness no ABS hop or pulsing.

My main concerns was the old inner pad was worn very very unevenly from the outer pad. As far as I know that’s caused by a bad caliper or something up with the master cylinder.

The coolant was low today so I filled it.

I have an appt on Monday since Kia wants to replace some brake lines for the recall I got today.
I’m hoping that invovels replacing the fluid and properly bleeding them.

Probably just the caliper not sliding

Ok, like Wulf said - the caliper slide pins probably were sticking that and or the slides the pads were mounted to were not correctly lubricated. Thats the most common reason why the pads wear unevenly.

If they are replacing hoses, they will be exchanging fluid. As zteknik mentioned, it sounds like an ABS issue.

If you had fluid low enough to make a surging sound in the master cylinder, I suspect you'd experience brake issues. Having said that, squishy feel is a sign of brake issues, usually air in the system.

Assuming it isn't the brakes, I'd consider what else might have fluid in it and be stressed under braking. Condensate drain tube blockage or air in the radiator or heater core circuit will cause a sloshy sound that you'd likely notice when braking.
Agreed. Sloshing liquid won't be a brake fluid issue.

Without hearing the groaning it's impossible to diagnose. Your suspension components can make odd noises under braking because of weight transfer but are usually not a long sound.

Try to record the noise. Or drive by a shop. Ask one of the guys to step out for a second and have him listen as you pass. It is often easier to pinpoint a noise from outside the car.

So you have a fluid sound and you lost fluid in a closed loop cooling system. I think that should be investigated more

Uneven wear means this. The caliper pin or bolt is stuck or was improperly installed. The fact you had pulsing means the old disk was warped and usually caused by sticky caliper or pin.
Pull pin and inspect. May need new rubber but or rubber bit was installed wrong. Lube it right and reassemble. When the brakes are pressed and released the rubber bit pulls the caliper and pad back a smidge. The caliper piston pulls the other pad back. Tiny gaps on both sides.

Had a Dodge mini van that groaned when braking something fierce. The shop who did the work told my ex that the brakes are working properly. I tore them down, cleaned them up, and used Permatex Ultra Disc Brake Caliper Lubricant (the green stuff) on the caliper piston face, pad backing, and pins. Groan went away. I now use it on any disc brake job.

I'd get a code reader and see if you can pull any codes or data from the OBDII. Maybe the dealer can run diagnostics on the ABS system. Could be a malfunction that isn't bringing up fault light on the dash. My Chevy Colorado started throwing ABS fault on the dash light. OBD reader said faulty sensor rotor /sensor on drivers side front wheel. I changed the hub with reluctor and I changed the sensor. Truck was pulling to the right under hard braking. Changed components mentioned and cleared the code. It fixed it. If the dealer won't run diagnostics, you might be able to get a loaner code reader from the big box part stores for free. Below is link to KIA Forte forum...

ABS Codes listed here. Chassis codes begin with a "C"
