Default Proposed Boulder County Firearms restrictions

Following suit with Boulder, Superior, and Louisville, Boulder County is moving forward with their own suite of firearms restrictions.

    https://www.bouldercounty.org/departments/commissioners/proposed-gun-violence-prevention-ordinances/

The county AW ban seems to stop short of banning possession and does not include a registration requirement.

With the recent Supreme Court actions, is anyone aware of a group or organization challenging these ordinances in court?

    Interesting...

The overly broad carry restrictions will get encumbered by the recent SC ruling. Just calling a place "sensitive" does not make it so. Sure- specific county buildings will probably be legally viable restriction, but "all parks and open space" will not pass muster. It also appears that NF would not be covered by such a prohibition, but that is a topic to be discussed. Using "because mass shootings happened at grocery stores" justification on why you shouldn't be able to defend yourself at grocery stores hurts the brain.

The watering down of the AW and mag thing also raises an eyebrow, plus the change from firearm "sale/possession" to just "sale" for under 21.

I wonder how FFL dealers outside Boulder County will handle county residents who want to purchase verboten firearms? If anybody has something they want to buy, probably good to get it now before that trick can be executed.

Also seems to have limited impact on people passing through the area since possession is not targeted.

What a shit show. I have some contacts at BRC and will ask if they are engaged in tempering some of this crap, especially since the county needs their support to end dispersed NF shooting.

    Again,

    We need FFL help.

Don't sell any ammo, guns. or accessories to BCSO (or the other Boulder County) or their officers since these weapons and ammo are so dangerous.

Of course watching the BCSO and LPD practicing shooting up cars with full auto weapons with the only barrier between their "practice range" and other private property is a normal cedar fence convinces me that they are really safe with their firearms...

The Mountain States Legal Foundation is the group that filed the lawsuit against Boulder the first time around along with the Independance Institute. they will be re-filing their lawsuit against Boukder after they review the final text of all the laws Boulder passed again.

Since it doesn't ban the possession, all you have to do is go to another county to buy any of those items. You're not dealing with state law, but country ordinances/ municipal codes. I see this as having a high likelihood of getting overturned. But even if it doesn't, I don't see this being difficult for anyone to get around.

I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.

Yes, it is a city ordinance just as Denvers law has been for years, you likely will not be fined or serve jail time but they will most definitely confiscate whatever you have.

I will give the progressives credit- they charge forward no matter what the headwinds indicate.

I would still officially like to hear their official reasoning for not pursuing a county AWB for possession with grandfather registration.

Stand by for more lawsuits, injunctions, and rulings...

So I'd give the progressives two byes. When Boulder's are shot down as unconstitutional and the third town suggests the very same thing, the folks proposing the laws should be charged with treason.

...because the by third time they obviously don't give a $#!+ about the Constitution.

YOU are the first responder. Police, fire and medical are SECOND responders.
When seconds count, the police are mere minutes away...
Gun registration is gun confiscation in slow motion.

Didn't Boulder also "outlaw" nuclear weapons back when they were making plutonium triggers at Rocky Flats?
