    Growing pot outdoors should come with the expectation that it WILL be stolen at some point. No different than if you are brewing beer and have cases of it in your garage. Pot and beer are easy to turn into cash so are prime targets for theft.

    I did have to laugh last year, however, while taking my son out for permit driving time, we explored the back roads of Boulder County near Haystack Mountain north of town. One open field we drove past had pot growing just like it was some boring plot of sorghum. I don't remember if there was even any signage indicating surveillance. There was nothing stopping somebody from helping themselves to however many plants they wanted to grab and throw into the back of a vehicle.
