    Default NICS Denial Notification Act

    https://www.gunowners.org/gitn10042022/
    https://justthenews.com/government/f...es-feds-denied

"...federally licensed firearms dealers (FFLs) are now required to provide the FBI with the personal addresses of individuals whose attempted purchases were denied.

...the FBI must now provide details of the failed transactions -not only those denied but also those just delayed - and the personal information of the rejected individuals to local law enforcement...

The stated purpose of the bill is to stop criminals and prevent gun crimes before they happen."

I am not sure what to think about this one. It seems like a feel good law that doesn't actually do anything. However, the more information any level of government has on an individual is rarely a good thing.

Didn’t read the article. That info is provided when the background check is submitted, so they already have it. Maybe they are referring to store denials that are not submitted.

I have been denied several times. They always were approved within the day. I do not want LEO to be bothered to visit me for bureaucratic mistakes. Its a lawful transaction. Its none of their business to be honest. The 2nd and 4th amendments were made for these kind of scams.

They've not been bothered to do anything about applicants that have flat out lied on the applications for years. They're just now taking an interest in enforcement?

I get denied frequently. My last name has a space in it. Except it doesn’t sometimes. It always goes through the second time though. Guess the sheriff will be getting my info a few times a year?

Delayed. Only denied once. Took 12 years to clear that up. I had to have the congress change the law.

The address is not provided when the background check is submitted. It is on the 4473, but only limited info is provided to CBI and NICS for the BGC. Most people think they get the serial number on the firearm, also, but they don't. It's on the 4473, but the FFL keeps that until requested by authorities, or when quitting business.
It's not like the authorities can't figure out the address with the limited info provided, but it's not part of the BCG application.

I'll bet congress relented when they realized you are a Grand Master Know It All.

Turns out the congress was quick to help but took forever in execution.
