She's more of a traditional dem who doesn't like the extreme far left turn her party has taken. She's been outspoken about leftist extremism for a long time. Her party moved, she didn't. A decent dem, but still a dem, party affiliation or not.
She's on a short list of current dems I don't hate even if I don't agree with all of her policy positions.

She is still a democrat and just because she left her party doesn’t mean she has come over to the right side of things. She still has her core beliefs that would threaten some of our basic rights. She said she will defend the Constitution but no reason for you to have a modern semiautomatic rifle with a detachable magazine of more than 10 rounds.
No one on the congressional left is following her lead and last night some leftists and calling her a traitor and a Russian asset that wants to destroy America.
Maybe Trump will choose her for VP.

Still an anti 2A demon
I agree. Still like the fact that she called out the Dems flaws for her decision to leave the party. She is obviously anti 2nd Amendment (not good) but certainly pulled back a scab and made a few enemies. Interesting timing with the mid-terms.Originally Posted by hollohas
I think there may be more to the story on that. Or she could be a full of shit faker. Not hard to believe the Dem party might have mandated what her positions would be. Be interesting to hear how it shakes out.

She's said her position on the 2A has changed a couple of times recently. I guess we'll see. If she's truly a convert away from the party of evil that's a good thing.

I like her, but I’m apprehensive. As we all should be towards any politician. They are not our friends. And hating her because she seems like a Democrat is divisive and unhelpful. Maybe hear what she has to say now and not in the past. Make an informed decision and one based in a priority of needs type of way, rather than she/he doesn’t check all my boxes. There is no perfect candidate.
I just think any politician can be anti 2a when it comes time to vote. Keep in mind, it was trunk that started the bump stock fiasco.

She's still not a conservative but she IS a liberal with a conscience, one who likes intellectual honesty and consistency -- and one who genuinely loves America. That's common ground I can get behind. I still disagree with some of her statements from her time as a Representative for Hawai`i and Democratic presidential candidate but there's enough common ground to have a useful and interesting discussion.
