It's not like cities or counties get to keep all the money they collect.

Don't wanna get shot by the police?
"Stop Resisting Arrest!"
I was not complaining about it. I am not trying to get out of it.
I do not lack integrity as I have been accused, by a stranger that knows absolutely nothing about how I live my life.
I fully admit that I was speeding and John Law caught me.
I was simply pondering if it is worth driving 80 miles to go to court to keep my previously spotless driving record clean, for no other reason than I like it that way.
The answer is no, of course not.
Didn't the police chief in Morrison get fired because the city said his cops weren't writing enough tickets? I thought I read that on one of the local news web sites a couple of years ago.

$120 is a fairly low velocity tax. Faced with the same thing (in Lakeside, population 9, 4 cops) I just paid it and moved on.
Light a fire for a man, and he'll be warm for a day, light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life...
Discussion is an exchange of intelligence. Argument is an exchange of
ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?
I tried to pay it yesterday but it is not in the system yet. I called to find out what was going on and the girl said it can take a month to upload.
I also learned if I go to court, they may offer reduced points from the original ticket but the fine is the same.
So I can drive 80 miles each way and pay the full $180 and hope for a point reduction. Or pay online, eventually, and get the $120 and two point deal John Law told me about.
The obvious course of action is to pay online, hang my head in shame any time the subject of driving record pops up and of course, go to extreme measures to ensure I never again find myself in the municipal armpit that is Fountain, Colorado.
I've had one ticket in the past 30 years. Was on a road trip from CO to WA and back. I mentioned to the WA state trooper that I hadn't had a ticket in over 20 years. He said, "Well, you had a good run."No points system for the out of state ticket.
I considered it a stupid tax for me not paying enough attention and paid it. CO never knew about it and it was never an issue with insurance.
Liberals never met a slippery slope they didn't grease.

My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."
