Not a lot of free parking downtown. Some of the spots don't even allow you to re-feed the meter.
Good luck with that. Downtown parking is a pretty tight racket. Parking garages are $20/day minimum if in before 9am or earlier in some cases and $6,7,8/hour short term after "early bird" and meters are 2 hours max then you have to move 100 feet minimum.
Be prepared to be accosted by drugged out pan handlers and dodge human feces in elevator lobbies and stairwells in parking garages as well.
I have not visited downtown in about 4 years. The best tip I can give to avoid parking frustration and costs is to simply avoid going there. Unless, of course, you are going there for something that another area simply does not have. Like a special store, doctor visit etc. Parking is, and always been an act of frustration and a pain in the ass. And wallet. Drive in circles trying to find an open meter, or pay the ransom and park in a lot. Not sure of any free parking. From my wife's descriptions of downtown (works there), several parking meters may be available, but there will be a homeless person sleeping, shitting, shooting up next to it. So you won't want to park there.
Denver? Downtown?

NO RANGE FOR YOU!!!.....NEXT!!!
There are about a half dozen days per year that Denver turns meters off for "free" parking day, also some holidays and maybe Sundays.

I was going to suggest parking a few miles away and calling for an Uber, but I checked the going rate in Denver and wouldn't recommend it.
14, 2022, 12:05 p.m. Denver has the third most expensive Uber rate in the United States, according to a new study of the company's ride-share prices around the world from NetCredit. The average cost of a 6.2-mile ride in the Mile High City? $33.19.
Never complain; never explain.
My Feedback
Where are you trying to go and for how long?
There are a lot of places to park in and around downtown that are free, time regulated or metered. It's not as bad as a lot of people make it seem.
DEN (Denver International Airport) or downtown Denver? DEN I stay at a nearby hotel that offers a shuttle, breakfast and free parking. Downtown, I shop at Pacific Mercantile that offers parking with purchase.
