Default Lot of good all those new UPS rules and regulations on guns are doing...

I've been waiting months for a Terminus Zeus action - it was shipped about a week ago to my gunsmith.

Very little resolution on where it was during its travels. The tracking information was just about useless.

Well, it was supposed to be delivered today by 7pm. Nada. At 8pm I jokingly texted him and asked if it was earlier than 7pm at his house.

At 9pm I get a text from UPS that it was delivered. I texted him asking "Really? It was delivered at 9pm?"

The reply from him was chilling. Yes it was. Did they ring the doorbell? No. Did they get the required signature? No.

The box was just sitting on his porch.

If I hadn't texted him it would have sat out all night.

Yeah i have UPS my choice and as far as the options go it's cool IF the delivery guy actually does what you request them to do ie; package placement and what not. Other then that the tracking seems to be a bit more accurate in my experiences.

    This.

I had a $4k laptop shipped to me, and despite direct signature required, the UPS guy left it on the front step. No outer shipping box, just the Dell XPS branded box.

You have to make sure you waive electronic signature that way they have to get a physical signature otherwise due to covid they don't have to get a signature

Doesn't matter 99.99% of the time. UPS/Fedex/etc insurance is a joke.

Depends on the driver. I've never authorized any of the carriers to accept electronic signature or leave signature required packages. Still have had signature required packages left with no one home.

The real reason they don't worry about signatures is it drives their cost of delivery up to have to make the return trip to deliver 2nd/3rd time. They didn't get paid for those trips...

I can't count the number of times UPS and USPS have told me something was delivered only to get it the day after I complained that it was in fact NOT delivered.
