    Default Missing the mountains

Brought family to Colorado for Thanksgiving. I miss the mountains and hunting elk. But man, I quickly forgot about the traffic.

    Colorado is broken.

Exactly 22 years ago when we retired and moved from Naperville, IL to Trinidad, CO, we were really happy that Colorado was such a great State. Still is but with all the Californicartors screwing up the State, we were almost glad to move back to the ?Rustbelt? of the USA, Illinois, in 2015.

Yeah, I definitely don't miss that part. Some of the people, yeah.

Traffic is everywhere, and projected to expand.

There are few places where you can be at the foot of mountains.

I've seen some epic mountain/hunting posts on this forum, and you are right, for some people, this is the life.

Personally, every day that I can drive in to work and see the mountains in the distance, is a beautiful day.

In many ways. Not just traffic. That's why we left. I wish it was like the early 2000s late 1990s again. Seemed like getting around was easy. Being conservative wasn't considered evil. Everything wasn't constantly identity politics. Not to hijack this thread for something else, but 9news ran an article about the victims in Colorado Springs and they put the pronouns next to each victim. I mean what nonsense.

I'm mostly happy with my move to MO. The people are more friendly for sure. The weather takes some serious getting used to and in similar words of 00tec, sure they get less tornadoes than Colorado but they have the type of tornado that will throw your doublewide two states over.
