Default Registering a Humvee in WY as CO resident?

Our blue overlords here have made a law prohibiting CO residents from legally registering former military Humvees in CO. In fact if you previously had one registered, it will not be allowed to renew. The only way to legally drive one in the state now is off road only.

What is stopping me from getting a PO Box in Wyoming and using that as my address to register the Humvee in Wyoming with Wyoming plates and then from time to time drive it down here in Colorado?

In theory, if I had a hunting property in Wyoming with no house on it and kept a Humvee up there in a barn there is no law saying I couldn?t drive it down here for maintenance or hauling hey down?

Just wait ,it gets better as Colorado is now a CARB compliant state, yea the California Air Resource Board BS. This got snuck in jan 1st 2021. So if your cats get stolen you have to now replace them with CARB cats that cost twice as much. Also going to affect emission standards for the whole state. This state is a far cry from the one I grew up in.

As to registering vehicle out of state, I have a co worker who car has had Nebraska plates on his vehicles for the past two decades, but he has family there.

On one of the military vehicle forums some Coloradans had scheduled individual meetings with DMV to arbitrate the status of their military vehicles.
It is not just military HUMVEE owners that are getting their on-road titles pulled.
I have not gone back to read how those meetings turned out.

One alternative that was suggested is to register your vehicle in Vermont.
I didn't follow the links or read the info but apparently there is some details that make out of state registration practical.

When his registration expires he is no longer allowed to renew it. DMV is such a scam they are now able to turn down registrations.

Yeah, this affects all ex military vehicles, not just humvees. If it doesn’t have a standard vin number you will have problems.

    Don’t do Wyoming.
If you want to form a LLC in Montana that is good route to go and very common.
You can also do South Dakota fairly easily or Vermont.

Glad I sold my last Pinzgauer when I did. I feel kinda bad for the buyer, but we didn't know about this at the time.
