I agree that all these different alerts tend to take the edge off of each other and lessen the supposed importance of all of them, to the public.

I question the effectiveness of any of them, other than to law enforcement.

I have never seen anyone go running outside with binoculars after one was issued.

Tribal police are not well funded or trained, comparatively, and generally do not network with other tribes.

There have been a few cases where an unidentified indigenous woman's body was found within another tribe's borders, and it took a lot longer than it should've to figure out who they were. A lot of indigenous women get abducted every year, most wind up dead, and a lotta people don't really seem to care.

What Clint said. Minority group with a massive overrepresentation in crimes committed against Women and kids. I?m all for helping solve that issue. There aren?t going to be resources pulled from other missing minority groups. Not sure why anyone would be upset with helping find missing people.

All of that is fine expect for why they need a race based alert system when others are already available. I have no issues with funds being directed towards problem areas.

Duplicative government function. Why do it once when doing twice costs more but ends with the same result.

Government waste. $600k diverted from being used elsewhere. The Indians could cooperate without the extra money. An alert can be sent without creating a new system. But if you have ever been in the 4 corners area, tribe vs tribe hatred and segregation.

This is nothing but $600k being flushed for votes and the appearance of doing something.
