Well that didn’t take long.
They will pass it.
The Dems have the strongest majority in Colorado government since 1947.
They control every single substantial elected office.
There is nothing to stop them.
Prepare accordingly

The most important thing to be learned from those who demand "Equality For All" is that all are not equal...
Gun Control - seeking a Hardware solution for a Software problem...
My hope is the city bans are overturned and a few state bans are overturned based on recent USSC rulings.
There is zero historical basis for banning firearms based on features, function or capacity. Prior to Brady, there was no historical basis to obtain permission either, so I hope the national truly pro 2A groups go after permission slips also. We need to bring back mail order firearms for all.
A lock on my front door is sufficient to properly secure my tools.
"Assault weapons" - stupid fucks, they think there's millions of select-fire weapons flooding the country? Don't ya just wanna slap the living shit out of a few thousand politicians?
There's a lot more of us ugly mf'ers out here than there are of you pretty people!

Scrotum Diem - bag the day!
It's all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits.....
Sadly this will pass, there will be nothing we can do to stop it. The dems have solid controll of this state now.

Don't be stupid!!!!!
After the Club Q shooting, I mentioned in another thread that there was immediate talk of an "assault weapons" ban.
Several members said that it will never pass because Polis said he doesn't support such a ban.
My question there, and here, is if such a ban passes both houses (which is very likely), will he sign it into law?
I say he will. He has aspirations for the big office in Washington.
Signing an "assault weapons" ban will give him credibility with the soccer mom type swing voter that is uninformed about firearm issues, other than knowing they are bad. Looking like he is doing something to curb the unmitigated horror that black rifles represent will gain him more votes than it will cost him, on a national level.
He is term limited as Colorado Governor so what he does now won't affect his potential future in the state (unless he runs again in 2030 after sitting out the '26 term).
Who has a grenade launcher? I have missed that party.

Dave Kopel's take on it. Nothing that hasn't been discussed here often.
Instead of addressing firepower, the 2023 state legislature will likely copy definitions from recent laws written by the national gun prohibition lobbies for municipalities in Boulder.
Apparently they aren't usable on public lands, so no more shooting your "assault weapons" on the Pawnee.

Bruen has already rendered these types of ban moot. SCOTUS has already kicked Bianchi v Frosh back to the 4th.
