Two postings and no one showed compassion for the loss of life, those injured, and the families that will be impacted forever.

Please tell us HOW to feel about this.
Just because people don’t comment they way everyone expects does not mean they don’t feel for them at all. As the post above stated how are you supposed to feel when there are no faces or names and you don’t know any of them?
It does not mean anyone here is not as outraged as you or disgusted by this act.
It is just that guys like us have to bear the brunt of this because of some insane person.
I’m tired of being the bad guy because of someone else actions.
You can feel how you want and express yourself how you want. Don’t demand we all parrot your feelings the same way.

Why is everyone so sensitive? Since someone asked how I feel about it (otherwise I wouldn't share)... There are ~8000 deaths per day in the US. If I do not personally know the deceased or someone that was personally affected by their deaths, I do not have the bandwidth to think much about it. As a gun owner, I accept zero blame or responsibility for their deaths. Your mileage may vary.

There are so many tragedies that occur to people everyday in a country with a population nearing 400 million, and a world with over 8 billion, that there it not enough time to mourn every one. And if you tried you would likely be paralyzed with grief, unable to function.

And which one would you chose to mourn? The third person shot in the L.A. dance hall? The brown haired girl that was stabbed to death in Idaho? What about one of the babies in Africa that succumbed to malnutrition this morning?

When I see or hear someone expressing their outrage or horror at whatever dramatic event just occurred, I question their sincerity.

For instance, Hannah Gay Keao, Edgewater City Council member on the Boulder supermarket murders- "I cannot tell you how many times my husband and I have cried since because I?ve lost count. We?ve cried, together, alone, holding our daughter, watching the news, reading statements in our inboxes from our lawmakers."

Do I really think she has actually cried so many times she has lost count? No. If she indeed has, she is either so mentally unstable as to be unfit for office, or is really bad at math.

Or both.

People that chose to publicly express their grief are often looking to call attention to themselves. Whether it is virtue signalling or attempting to advance a cause, their motivations can be suspect.

It calls to mind the North Koreans that openly wail with unrelenting grief when they visit Kumsusan Memorial Palace where Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il lie perpetually in state.

Those that express the deepest lament are judged to be the most loyal citizens.

When Chuck Schumer jumps on Twitter to immediately denounce the L.A. murders as a hate crime and call for gun bans, he is seen as the most strident defender of democracy. At least in his mind and those that follow such dogma.

I wasn't offended. I understand exactly where you were coming from.

We all feel for the victims of senseless tragedies like these. Sadly, as others replied to your post, we've come to be hardened to these losses by the repeated evil we see within our society but also understand that we'll be on the receiving end of excessive regulations that will only serve to enable these sorts of events from occurring more often (by disarming the law-abiding).

Define "mass shooting". 2, 3, 4 people shot? That happens daily in Chicago. Then consider St Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, Seattle, Houston, Albuquerque, etc.

It just always baffles me that they post headlines like this knowing there is a large portion of the population that see it and immediately believe it as gospel that guns are a huge problem in our country. I?d guess the number of deaths in 2023 from cardiac issues has already surpassed the number of days this year but they don?t run with that headline because it doesn?t fit someone?s agenda.

According to the CDC, an average of 382,820 people die of coronary heart disease each year. Doing the math, that means roughly 27,000 people have died of heart attacks since Jan. 1, or about 1 every minute and 23 seconds.

Who says a million were killed by COVID? Govt source or some other source that has a vested interest or benefit in high COVID death rate?

Maybe a million died while infected by COVID. I think it is now pretty common knowledge that COVID caused deaths have been over reported/counted.
