Default National Gun of the U.S.

    https://truthout.org/articles/republ...-national-gun/

A House Republican has introduced a bill that would make the AR-15... the "National Gun of the United States" ...

The AR? I don't agree with that.

If there is any gun that represents the U.S., it is the 1911.

Considering there's probably more AR's than 1911, in use. OR the safe. It makes sense.

I think any effort put into this is a waste of tax dollars and is just more unnecessary culture-war drama.
Having said that, I would nominate either the Winchester Model 1894 or 1911. Both come from a time of hands-on craftsmanship and predate plastic molded parts.

And the AR15 didn't even win two World Wars...

I concur with the opinion that this is nothing more than GOP virtue signaling.

I stopped reading the article at the MAGA point. I didn't feel like being further irritated.

I wondered if anyone would read the linked article. Leftist drivel.
