Hard to find a printed newspaper, but including one in the picture would be harder to change. And yes, any picture or even video can be modified to change things in it. We just need to make the hurdles as high as possible to discourage changing it.

Previously with the mag restriction, it was on the state to prove it wasn't purchased back when it was legal... is there something in this one that reverses that?

Ditto what Ah Pook said: Miss the state but not the BS.
'Unless a law-abiding individual has a firearm for his or her own defense, the police typically arrive after it is too late. With rigor mortis setting in, they mark and bag the evidence, interview bystanders, and draw a chalk outline on the ground' - Judge Benitez , 2019, Duncan v. Becerra.

'One of the ordinary modes by which Tyrants accomplish their purpose without resistance is by disarming the people and making it an offense to keep arms.' Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, 1840.

What's essential? Why friends & family who live out of state, of course.

Colorado is doomed. Polis embraces the thought of becoming California or another shithole state that coddles to the Libs. I may be moving.

This is a good idea and what I did. I made 2 lists: one with SA and the other with others. I also got my trust schedule notarized as well since I have some that do not have stamps on them in there.

The way the US court system works is that it's the job of the prosecution to prove you are guilty thus they would have to prove that you did not have a certain firearm prior to a certain date. It would be on them to do whatever traces they can on the serial number or obtain your banking records to try to determine when you bought it. My guess is that if you did in fact own it before said date that they would find out pretty quick that they don't have a case.

I'd lean towards this not passing on this round but if another incident happens in Colorado that the next time they introduce this that it will pass barring some sort of precedent setting court case. I think Polis wants it to quietly go away because he knows it would be a bad check mark on his presidential asperations but at the same time if it was passed that he seems like the one that would still sign it anyway.

In the mean time call your local reps office and simply let them know that you do not agree with any of this legislation. Yes call, a phone call carries more weight than an email, like everyone else they get thousands of emails a day. Despite the state being blue many counties that have recently turned blue are still capable of flipping back red.

Newspapers are for proving something exists "now", not "then". Nothing stopping you from saving a newspaper from today and taking a picture of a new 'farm a year from now with it.

    Notarized. Only way to go.

Yep... 2 were recalled. BFD. How's that working out for you now? I'll tell you how. It's not. Nobody on the left cares...obviously. Since those two were recalled 6 or 7 years ago...whenever it was...Colorado has moved further and further to the left. And it ain't stopping any time soon.

Defeatism isn't on your agenda. Whatever. Nobody on the left cares about your agenda. They care about theirs. And their agenda is winning in Colorado...and they're doing a good job of it.

I agree. I lived there in the 70s for a few years, then moved back in 89 when I got out of the Air Force. Lived there till 2015. I moved for a lot of reasons, leftist politics just being one of them.

But living in a solidly red state...that's getting even more red...is a true blessing.

There was a special election in Oklahoma today asking if recreational MJ should be legal (medical MJ is already legal). It's apparently going to be defeated...soundly...by a nearly 2 to 1 margin. That makes me happy. I'm not necessarily against MJ, but I've seen the unintended consequences of it being legal in other states and, on balance, it's enough to make me against making it legal.

And on the gun front we have at least one sheriff that's promised to arrest federal agents if they attempt to enforce federal rules against bump stocks, braces, etc...unless the person arrested is committing some other gun crime.
