Default Palmeto State Armory won't deliver to me...

They said they can't deliver to my address. I couldn't find a reason why on their website. Was there a law passed or something Colorado did to stop buying machined parts through the mail? I could still buy every part I was looking for locally I'm sure.
    What gives?
As always thanks for your time.

What were you buying ? Was it something that came with a forbidden accessory such as a mag that was over the round limit?

Would need to know what "machined parts" are. It is a nondescript term in the firearms world.

I remember reading that some E-Commerce companies (Rock Auto was one) wont sell to selected zip codes in Colorado due to the requirement to collect and pay the state/county/city sales tax.
It is because some of the locations in this state don't have a way/office/process where you can send the funds to, or require you to purchase a sales tax license so the business can collect the taxes.
APEX went thru that exercise, and found a company to manage all the state and county sales tax collection nationwide, Colorado cities are done thru my book keeper.

Try placing your order with a different "deliver to" address.

Another complication in the lives of the citizens of Colorado thanks to the wonderful selection of law makers we have residing in the statehouse.
It isn't easy for a business to handle either!
If Colorado had an office to handle the collection/distribution of the sales taxes it would not be so time consuming or costly to comply with the law.
Instead you have to chase down the sales tax people in every city, some of which don't want to hear from you.

These people help with deciding what taxes to charge customers, based on location.

    https://www.avalara.com/us/en/index.html

But it should all be documented somewhere. If you sell to Colorado, mainly, you will have 100 tax codes to enter.

I've done sales taxes before, and the way to do it is to automate your Point of Sale to note the sales taxes that should be paid, based on the customer location.

Then you end up with a report like:

    State of Colorado: X
    RTD: Y
    City of Aurora: Z
    Out of State: A

    etc.

Also, it doesn't have to be perfect. These jurisdictions have no idea what is going on. It just has to be consistent, with your best effort to pay the proper jurisdictions the taxes they require.
