Pat Schroeder Dies at 82

Schroeder was elected to Congress in Colorado in 1972 and became one of its most influential Democrats as she won easy reelection 11 times from her safe district in Denver.

She held office for 24 years, to be replaced with Diana DeGette who has served for 26 years... and counting.

I can remember my dad complaining about her politics when I was kid. While serving she was thought of as pretty far left. Today she would barely move the needle left of center.

I like that she moved to Florida when she retired. Spent 24 years contributing to making Denver very progressive then jumps ship.
