You are correct, some parts of Wyoming are different than Colorado.

Where we live now, is almost exactly the same as the part of Weld County we moved from.

Laramie AND Cheyenne get more weather due to the elevation.

Then there are parts that are very much like Colorado, right down to the politics and wokeness. Talking to you Jackson Hole and Cody.

Imagine the most powerful shower you've ever been in. Now double that and it's the whole sky doing that, and it lasts for hours. That's the Monsoon in Asia.

Am sure some of our tumbleweeds know each other.

    Sure sold me on Wyoming.

But I've spent enough time working there to know I don't want to move there.

There are a lot of good things about Wyoming, but I wouldn't want to live there again. TOO. DAMN. COLD.

Yep. I'd love to live in WY. But the cold and the non-stop wind in the winter was the deal-killer to me. I lived there and graduated from high school in Casper. Even as a teenager the cold was unbearable. I hated it. But I sure love the lack of people and the vast areas of the state open for outdoor recreation.

And, WY is getting to be just as bad as the other mountain west states in terms of cost of living. Houses are pretty expensive now even in the less desirable parts of the state. No more moving for me, though. I love where we wound up...it's far and away my favorite place I've ever lived.

Stop talking about my state! Cheyenne and Laramie have become Colorado North!!! So much extra traffic in the last 7 years, and the housing market is STUPID compared to 5 years ago.

If you would like any info about cheyenne, ask here or PM me. There are more and more shifting to Wyoming because of what it can offer.

I'm worried that they are, Colorado North, and very liberal, etc.

What are your thoughts on that?

I'll never move back to Wyoming, itz a beautiful state, but can really only be lived in and appreciated by strong willed folk.

Colorado isn't my final destination either...

My wife's been dead-set against moving to my home state of OK, but she's actually made a few favorable noises about it lately. But all the shit we have - need several months and a 30 yard dumpster.....
