Default Bandimere surrenders to the Karens

No mention of why, but I can't believe they would have any reason to leave that iconic location besides the continued encroachment of massive new subdivisions to the east and the busybody Karens who move into them.

The price of that land would motivate a lot of people. 131+ acres of prime real estate.

Does that pay for the purchase of new land and building of a new facility, probably out past the airport somewhere, which will have zero intangibles compared to what exists now?

Any decent CRE broker would factor that all in or it wouldn?t make financial sense.

The location made the place what it was, any new location will never be the same and will likely be a waste of money. This will be probably be the end of drag racing in Colorado.

It's too bad, people that move near an existing race track, gun range or an airport shouldn't have a right to bitch about it afterwards.

I couldn’t have said it better, it’s the end of a Colorado icon & tradition.

Hope they (the sellers) put a disclaimer in the sales contract absolving them of all the responsibility for the contamination of the land for the 60 + years. The spills & outright disposal of fuels, oils and other petroleum products from the venue & participants.

Finally clicked on the article. Not trying to defend the Karens of the world, but the article made no mention of complaints or any sort of pressure to sell. I?m thinking this just might have been a purely financial decision. Cash out on a valuable piece of property, buy something less expensive, and build a newer, more state of the art facility elsewhere. I?d definitely be happy if they moved east of town. I can almost drive to Limon quicker than I can get to Golden/Lakewood.
