They failed to read the fine print on the time involved in charging their Tesla?s not to mention the scarcity of charging stations.

This post perfectly illustrates my point in it's inaccuracy that's presented as fact.

Nice try. If that's the case then lots of people on this forum are really bad at sarcasm delivery. Typically, to pull of sarcasm successfully, the opposite needs to be widely accepted as correct making the statement obviously sarcastic. I don't believe I've ever seen a single member of this forum say a single positive thing about Tesla. Just a bunch of hot garbage based on either incredibly outdated info (at best) or parroted BS that was never even accurate in the first place. I also try not to read tone into people's posts on forums, emails or text messages so if there's a sarcastic tone in any of this it's going to be entirely lost on people like myself.

No dog in the fight as I have ZERO interest in ANY electric or hybrid vehicle, but...

I honestly feel that the Model S and the proposed Tesla Roadster have decent lines (appearance) for a car.

Okay, now you can't say no one has said anything positive about them any more.

TBH that's what caught my attention initially. When I saw it many years ago, it was one of the best designed cars I had ever seen. It looked good enough that I had to know who made it. When I discovered it was a Tesla EV I was instantly out. Hard pass. 'I don't want a slow ass EV environmental warrior no matter how good it looks" I thought to myself. I'm glad I stepped outside of my comfort zone because the research I did using unbiased sources opened my eyes. I'd still be living with an inferior tool because I was too stubborn to examine another tool to determine if it could possibly be better. I'm here to say that a hammer isn't a hammer isn't a hammer and comparing any ICE car to an EV (specifically a Tesla) is already a silly starting point. They're just not the same. It's comparing apples to aardvarks.

For the record, the Model S is the secksiest car Tesla makes (until that Next Gen Roadster is made real) and the Model 3 and Y just isn't the same, visually. Far more utilitarian and far less flagship although I suspect most people don't even realize Tesla makes different models that are wildly different from top to bottom. From the world-beating performance (low 9-second quarter mile in nearly any condition in complete silence and comfort? yes please!) Tesla Model S Plaid at $130k down to their Model 3 which costs 1/3 as much.. they offer incredibly different driving experiences. The Model S (and a little lesser so the Model X) is more for "car people" generally speaking. The Model 3 and Y are more for the type who would simply buy a Honda Civic to get from point A to point B economically. Nothing wrong with either one, but lots of people go for a ride in a Model 3 (since they're by far the most you see on the road) and assume they know everything they need to know about Tesla. It would be like going for a ride in a Nissan Versa and assuming you know all you need to know about the GTR.

This is why I always offer to have people come check them out for themselves. It will change the way you look at them enough to at least start your own research path instead of just being closed minded the way I was at one point not too long ago as well. This is why Tesla has a $0 marketing budget because owners are willing to show anyone and everyone because they're that good. The product literally markets itself.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but rapid chargers are hardly scarce at this point...

Yeah. I see those things everywhere and in some unexpected places. Even in some very small towns on less than major highways I see them.

And that map shows just Tesla-specific superchargers. If you add in 3rd Party DC Fast Chargers and Level 2 chargers, the map looks more like this:

    https://www.plugshare.com/

And that doesn't even count the ability to plug in at RV parks or, in the worst case, a 110V wall outlet.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.
