What logic. When someone gets shot at a gas station do you also blame a gas scarcity?
    Sigh. It too, was sarcasm.

And it meets your bar since pretty much everyone on this 'board feels it's the person, not an object that's to blame for their actions.

Meh, Jer has been an easy bait for many years. Quiet sarcasm and dry humor are best approach. Timing and patience are key. G&S lucked into it.

Jer you own the Tesla topic(and probably nice chunk of stock since been fan boiy from beginning), keep beatin em over the head with logic.

I own zero TSLA stock shares. The cars are just that good and I'm a car guy, through and through.

Those who know me over the decades refer to me as a "gear head" and have all been amazed that I'm such a proponent Teslas. It's nothing political and I'm not a tree hugger trying to save the environment. They're just the best passenger vehicles for our needs and nothing else is even close at this point. There's others arriving late at the party and I welcome them all as competition favors the consumer. Hell, I even had a Ford Lightning reservation since minutes after they revealed it and was slated to take delivery a few months ago but that entire process was an absolute nightmare.

For years now I've tried to explain that I wasn't a Tesla fanboi so much as a "I like the best item available for my needs" kind of guy and they had the best product for our needs. I'm not brand loyal in the least and if Kia makes the best EV next month we'll be driving those instead. They won't because Tesla is that far ahead but I'm only as loyal as the product is loyal to me. I'm not getting any brand tattoos anytime soon.

I really wanted to see what Ford's offering was all about but that entire process was nothing but a stressful nightmare. I honestly don't believe I'll ever even consider a Ford product again after that symphony of errors on Ford's part over a year or so. It's too bad because, based on volume, that will be many people's first hand experience with EVs. They already lump Tesla Model S's in with Nissan Leaf's just because of the similar form of propulsion. That's basically where the similarities end but people talk about "EVs" as if they're all the same like a Nissan Versa is the same thing as a Lamborghini because they both use gasoline for their form of propulsion.

Because of that, I'm unsure if it will help the adoption rate or hurt it even though logically the more that are on the road (no matter how good or bad) the more it should help. I guess time will tell.

If I was it would be a long-term play for sure. I was this close -><- to buying about $10k worth back when it was $168/share I believe two splits ago which would have made me north of a half million buckaroos after gains tax was paid out last I checked. I don't do single stock investing though as it's too volatile for my liking. To be fair, I _may_ have inadvertently invested in TSLA in one of my mutual funds but I don't really count that as investing in TSLA based on the spirit of the question.

At this point in time, who cares. Drive one, or don't, if one was affordable i might consider it. It took 33 yrs before i'd even consider something other than a Big 3 vehicle. 15 yrs later on car # 3 that's a japanese branded (BUT) Made in America vehicle.

The down side to the EV's is. Unable to get in to one, let alone comfortable sitting or driving.

The man accused of shooting and killing another man at a Tesla charging station in Edgewater was found not guilty by a jury on Wednesday.

The complexities surrounding self-defense claims are often best addressed by a jury, as it allows the community to uphold justice while evaluating individual actions against shared societal expectations. We thank the jury for their service throughout this important case,” said Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Rhoads.
