and speaking of rain, I dumped out 2.6" this morning and I suspect at the rate it's coming today and predicted for all night, I'll dump that much out plus some.

Wake me when we get back from Seattle.

Not that I'm complaining because lord knows we need the moisture, but I've never seen it rain this much this long ever in Colo.
Laws aren't "preventable" measures. IOW, more gun laws won't stop mass shootings.

Rain in retention ponds and especially the one in the distance. It was empty the other day. More rain than I have seen in a few years.

The rain and floods in Longmont in 2016? It wiped out the sewage treatment plants in Evans co.

Thanks for the info. I thought I was sharing the link not my drive.

Looks like what we had down here, this winter. Monsoon season's not too far off.

We hit 4? of rain near Castle Rock since it started, not counting whatever we got from the hail. Can?t remember the last time we got this much rain.

Started raining at my place around 3:30p yesterday. We just hit 4".

My sump has been bone dry for ten years. I wasn't convinced that it would even work. I went down to check it and found water covering it. Uh oh.

I went to get a mallet, because nothing fixes things better than a good 'ol smack from a hammer. As I walked back up to the sump and reached to grab the pump to dish out some punishment, it switched on. Thank goodness.

Our 16 year old, long dry sump pump is running every 5 minutes now.

Our neighborhood park, that also serves as a retention pound, is just about full. It's a full on lake. Never seen more than a puddle in it. It's 3 or 4ft deep now and doing its job. Whatever civil engineer that designed the drainage in our neighborhood deserves a beer.

I would love to see my old driveway today.
Lots of fields shedding water. I had it under control when I was there, but the current owners removed the wheat field.

As like many of you I can't remember it raining this long in the 39 years I've lived here. The lawn's gonna be a bitch to mow when it stops! Not a bad problem to have. Stay dry everyone.

Our sump pump's been coming on every 2 minutes like a maniac for a couple of days now. The rubber coupler from the pipe at the house to the pipe across the yard cracked from age and was geysering water right next to the foundation, which then just ran back down to the French drain and sump. Patched that with some Flex Seal tape (nasty shit), stopped the leaking but the pump's still trying to keep up.

Don't feel so bad now about not having the sprinklers turned on yet.....glad I didn't put any fertilizer down yet, grass is gonna grow like crazy now.
