After my wife and I went shooting last Monday, she asked me if we had enough ammo in case SHTF. My answer was yes, if things started happening fairly soon, like within the next couple of months. But if we need to wait another year, no we don?t and still be able to practice.
So she said that it is okay to divert some discretionary funds into stocking up on reserve ammo on top of what we use for practice.
