The first two people to comment on that story (on the news site, not here) are spouting out "gun control" BS.

Before we (.gov) start to take away citizens rights, why don't we try the whole "control" thing on something we can all agree is bad for you - and society as a whole; like illegal narcotics.
    [start sarcastic response]
I say that we place some restriction and controls on illegal narcotics to get those off of the streets. We need to pass laws and increase control over these drugs to reduce the chances of someone becoming adversely effected by them and to reduce the crime directly associated to drugs. That should get all of the drugs off of the street; right?
    [end sarcasm]
Given that the .gov has been doing just that sort of thing for drugs for decades and drugs are just as readily available as they ever were, what makes people think that "gun control" regulations/activities will be any more successful? Why, as a law abiding citizen, should my rights be infringed because a few dumbasses choose to do something already illegal?

The anti-gunners are so ridiculously naive.

Once again, my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

it ain't over yet. obama announced today he wants to tax the super high profile plans...I think that should include the .gov plans as well...i.e senators and congressman, but I doubt it.
They wanted to tax the wealthy to cover it. Sounds like a bitter dispute amongst the dems. I think before long you will see some secede from the pack and drop the whole thing completely.

that is the beauty of the dems...they have their heads so far up their asses that they fight among themselves for their own uber-libtard selves that they can't work together to get something done as a group which includes some compromise.

I remember seeing these kinds of kids in school and college, they would take over an entire group project and do the thing themself with little to no input from the rest of the group just so it was done "their way". those people grow up and some become libtards
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

The story on Fox that I read described the gun used by this lunatic not as simply an "assault rifle", but as a "large assault rifle".

    Now that's really scary.

I thought that assault rifles were classified by firing an intermediary round (between pistol and rifle). What would a "large assault rifle" fire that would be any bigger than the 7.62? I highly doubt that some whack job went in there with a SOCOM or Beowolf.
