    They're pretty easy to do yourself, I've built a dozen or so over the years. I'd volunteer to show you how but I've been working 6-7 days a week for the last year and there is no let up in sight.

    But yeah, if you send to a gun smith be sure they actually do know FALs, the list of horror stories over at the FALFiles of guys taking their FALs to a guy that knows FALs is long.

    def90 I thought that you had to have some specialized tools for the FAL but I don't know if that's true.

    Receiver wrench, headspace gauges, and pin gauges at a bare minimum.

    I'm out of town again for work but will send you a pm when I have a few minutes to go over it in more detail. Need to get back to dinner.

    I found a complete rifle built on an Imbel receiver for the price of the receiver alone so I went that route. Barrel needs to be threaded though.
