I keep thinking of all those homeless in Vegas that live in those big concrete culverts. I was at Edwards AFB in 1979 and there were temporary lakes in the desert with millions of birds. All kinds of birds.

I anticipate a huge movement of birds into CO from the SW and coastal CA. There's a good chance that we can document the first CO records of Allen's Hummingbirds here. Allen's are resident breeders from San Diego and San Clemente.

I was right in the path out here in Death Valley.
Went out to see the damage this morning and found a Tacoma similar to mine buried up to the axles. Looks like the guy was trying to drive up the flood waters. Could see he tried to self rescue with a high lift jack. Amazing people have little to no sense. Where he was trying to get to the water would have been over my head by the high water marks. Lucky he got stuck where it was wide and some what flat.

While I realize this was special to ya'll out West, the fact is this landed as a tropical storm, and not a Hurricane, and so while this may still be a pretty unique thing, it's not THAT unique. It's a storm. I'm sure you all have been through a storm before?

But of course the Liberal Media, will have you know, this is a foreshadowing of the end times, and just the beginning of the hell of the rest of your life, if you don't atone now, NOW, and become a tree hugging (but not burning) person.

    Well, yes. And no.

Whether downgraded to a Tropical Storm or still a hurricane, can you tell me the last time you recall hearing about either hitting the West coast of the U.S.? I certainly don't remember one. In fact, I figured they must have had a different name for these types of weather events in the Pacific since I never heard of them out there.

So, yeah, this is kinda special and rare - even if the impact isn't particularly destructive.

I mean, it's just a storm, to San Diego, Los Angeles, etc.

    Nothing to fear, except weather.

The media, are blowing this out of proportion.

    A Hurricane is hitting California!

    Bullshit.

it's not bs in some areas of ca, az and nev. I despise the entire climate change, chicken little folks. Knowing people in all 3 states. They're not getting just "a lot of rain" .
