Default I need a new free antivirus for my laptop

I used Malwarebytes Free version for years but it has been having issues lately.

Does anyone have recommendations for a free antivirus?

I did try to sign up for Malwarebytes Premium but they want me to add my CC or PayPal account to GooglePay and I am wary of that...

Never needed anything more than MS Defender with Win10 for quite a while now.

If you have existing malware, get it cleaned up and just keep MS security patches and Defender updated.

I used to use ESET years ago but with my last two laptops I've just used the free antivirus that comes built in to windows and have yet to get a virus or any malware crap in the last 8 years.

Quit opening email attachments from people you don't know and you will be fine.
