Default After Nearly Four Years It Caught Up To Me

COVID. Wife started feeling a little sick Sat night, felt pretty bad on Sunday. I felt something coming on Monday but no big deal. Tuesday and Wed I had general achiness, fever, chills and no energy at all. We took the home tests on Tues...both positive. By Thur I was nearly back to normal. Today I feel fine. Can't say for me it was any worse than an average cold...except the lethargy. For those two days just walking across the house felt like it took everything I had. Never lost sense of taste or smell.

Wife still isn't feeling great but is definitely on the downhill side.

I hadn't left the house at all until I went to the VA hospital for an appt on the 11th. I don't know if we picked it up there or the wife drug it home from a trip to WalMart.

Glad to hear you're on the upside of that.

The first couple of variants out there were the worst ones. More folks lost sense of taste/smell from those and the body aches were so painful.

Yeah... I'm thankful it took so long and that we both had only mild symptoms. Definitely could've been worse.

It?s not the sick part that sucks. It?s the stupidity long recovery and the lack of energy for weeks.

The first two variants were spooky. Later variants didn't seem to hit nearly as hard and had less symptoms. From what we've heard, the Chinese were trying to develop a bioweapon, but being China, disregarded strict BH4 protocol and technicians infected themselves during the R&D phase... and with Omnicron's 12 day incubation period managed to infect the surrounding community. Huge coverup, followed by numerous whacko conspiracy theories. A lot of people still seem to think COVID was "only the flu" or even a complete lie. we know people who either died or became disabled for life as a result of COVID.

Finally our turn. Both Mrs bo and I felt out of sorts Saturday afternoon and crappy yesterday. Called in sick to work today and did the self test thing. Positive. Relatively mild symptoms for a flu type illness. Worst is the body aches for me and sore throat for Mrs bo.

Agree. For me it was "isolate for 5 days, then back to work with a mask for 5 days (yeah, you don't need that here), then crud in the throat and random coughing for a month".

I genuinely didn't think anyone was testing for this anymore.

Can I ask why? Especially at this point with everything that has come out about the whole deal.
