    I would almost welcome a deep recession if it put all the "influencers" in soup kitchens and homeless tent cities. Throw in the Finance types who've driven the last two recessions by trying to game the systems.

    I know a lot of folks out in Vegas and it's unanimous: they all hated the whole thing. Maybe it was good for the bottom line for the big shots, I haven't seen anything along those lines yet, but it looked like a complete shit show to me the last few times I went out there. I was there a few days before the race and the strip looked horrible. Like someone else said, the Bellagio fountains were blocked by seating. It was like driving through a construction zone.
