    Default Quality Feeler Gauge Set

Looking for recommendations on a quality feeler gauge set for Christmas. The sets from Harbor Freight suck!

Buy a set from napa. They run from $7-50, depending on steel, brass metric / standard combos etc. Not sure of craftsman quality today, the set i have from 75' is still holding up. Even the matco ones from that decade still work.

The Stanley and Proto are solid recommendations. mAC and Snap On are good as well.

Most of my good ones were pilfered from the Army and/or IBM toolkits.

In fact, I secured an old IBM 360 mainframe toolkit from an Army connex and was ordered by my superiors to dispose of it. I suppose CID is gonna hunt me down now.
    My Feedback

Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

The set I use was manufactured by Caterpillar.

I've never purchased anything from Caterpillar. However, Dad worked there for 30 years...

I guess it may have inadvertently fallen into his lunchbox at some point.

I measured them with my expensive Mitutoyo digital calipers and for the most part they are still dead on. Some of the thinner ones have worn tips- not a lot, about .0005. Not bad for at least 40 years old and hundreds valve and points adjustments.
