Waiting to see how hard I get fooked.
I put a bid on something and I ended up winning the auction.
Only problem is I didn’t catch that the seller only does cashier check or money order before I placed my bid.
    I only do credit card.

Now you even have to pay a 1% "Compliance Fee" when you buy. I used GB a lot back in the 2000s. I've used it maybe once or twice in the last 15 years, mostly due to outrageous shipping costs so many sellers charge, credit card fees from so many sellers, and all the other fees. It is a good source for pricing research, though.

Private sellers don't have the option to take credit cards and can't use PayPal. So cashier check or money order are the only choices. Stores have commercial accounts and can accept card payment.

Back in the early 2000's I used it quite a bit, both buying and selling.

I think my last transaction (purchase) was in 2018. I don't think I've sold through GB since 2007 or maybe even earlier than that.

Gotta watch out for those that automatically add charges for CC use.

Biggest issue I have with GB selling is that apparently you now need to have an FFL at both ends? I know the last time I sold a handgun (maybe 2006? Not sure) only the RECIPIENT needed to be an FFL. But I think with handguns (and maybe long guns, not sure) all sales need to go from FFL to FFL which means paying someone to do the transaction at both ends.

The issue with that now is shipping. UPS and Fedex pretty much require it to come from an FFL.

My last purchase was a local guy and we just met at my friendly neighborhood FFL, so we skipped the shipping fees/hassle.

You can not go by what they are "listed" for.
    Some are WAY overpriced.

I've used Gunbroker for 2 firearms purchases. Both were very smooth transactions, and the rifles were as good or better than the pics.

Been hitting GunBroker for oddball guns (Beretta 950, Interarms 22 Walther PPK) I've been lucky. Bid what other SP101-22 went for ($475) and won! Sitting at my dealers for the 3 day wait. I feel so much safer...
