    Default Republican Candidate Debate

I admit I didn't watch the whole thing, what I saw was an embarrassing example of how fuc*ed-up the Republican party is right now. Our only hope is that Joe runs again, his whole administration is corrupt, and people are starting to see that.

I can only imagine what a wreck that debate would have been if Trump were there, and I'm a Trump Fan!

Sad showing, like a bunch of kids on the playground.

I'm a conservative, but of the school that we're only granted the illusion of a 2 party system. All candidates we're offered to choose from are corrupt and idiots. We're given a choice between a thin margin of bad or worse.

The illusion of a two-party system? That's quite an illusion. I didn't watch the debate. I'll be honest...I don't know who to vote for out of that crew. Like it or not (most of us don't) the two-party system is reality for now (at least on a national level) and probably thru the remainder of my life. Some might make themselves feel better by voting third party but, aside from that, they'll get nothing else. Voting third party will only help one of the "Big Two" get elected. You can say it shouldn't be that way, but it is. You can say it will always be that way unless we start voting for other parties. Well, that's true, too. So all you have to do is convince 10s of millions of people that a third party candidate is viable. And, honestly, look at some of the third party candidates. They're as f'd up as any democrat or republican...some more so.

After the past 7 or so years I've grown to dislike and distrust the government more than I ever thought possible. I'm too the point I don't watch or read much "news" at all because EVERYONE lies about everything. I just want to be live out my life in my little corner of the world and be left alone.

Well...I wanna bitch about stuff on forums, too. There is that...

from where I sit it seems that the debate was not worth spending my time watching because after all, until Trump is somehow disqualified for the position, the others are just pissin' in the wind looking for the 2nd place awards.
Laws aren't "preventable" measures. IOW, more gun laws won't stop mass shootings.

The only way a third party (or more) can be viable is if the whole country had preference/priority style voting.

Otherwise a third party inevitably creates a minority win - e.g. ideologically, it's not an evenly split pie. The 3rd party will always be more similar to one, or the other. Together, they make a slight majority. Apart, the ideological minority becomes the bigger piece of pie and wins.

Only once people can say "I REALLY want to vote for Trucker Dan as my 1st choice! ..... followed by that "oiled up deaf guy", and then only if I REALLY have to, I'll vote for president Camacho for my 3rd choice." can both the ideological majority and a third party win in an electorate.

But even then, we're probably doomed to Idiocracy with celebrity presidents instead of bone-fide people with our interests at heart.

At least Taylor Swift will be able to sing the Anthem when she's elected in 2028 I suppose. And maybe she won't increase our national debt by 40% like DJT. Just trying to pick out positives.

These are not debates. They are yelling matches.

There needs to be an actual debate with rules that are enforced including microphones that are switched off after the candidate's time is up.

Answer the question asked, do not remark about previous questions or your opponent's answers.

They never answer any questions and only talk about how awful the others on the stage are.

It is as educational and entertaining as drunks arguing sports in a bar.
