I purchased an older Soviet-bloc pistol (that I'll likely be listing here soon C&R) from a fellow member and the gun was wrapped in one plastic bag, the magazines in another and the ammo in a third.

Absolutely no problem with the packaging/transfer method...but those bags can be used for private sales. At least they could before 10/2023 (FFL required) and now 1/2024 (plastic bags bad).
