I was in CA for Christmas and the area I was in around the foothills of the Central Valley area some stores gave up charging for the bags. There is no way to track whether the store is charging. The bags are not something that can be tracked. So the state does not know if bags are being charged for or not. The cashiers just give out the bags.

Fleecing the consumer is all this is. I wish I could get people to understand that fact.

It is like the CA Redemption Value charge for the soda and drinks in CA. The add that tax to each bottle and you are supposed to redeem the empty bottles for a percentage of the tax back for recycling. Most people don’t bother to return the bottles so the state keeps the tax money.
    It’s a scam.

It's that with the fees, but it is also virtue signaling and forced compliance. Compliance is going to be mandatory on a lot worse things than bags. I refuse to be compliant; I won't pay the fees or use reusable bags or behave in any way they want me to behave. I'll bring my stash of grocery bags, or trash bags, or a plastic tub I put in my cart. If they don't want me to use plastic, then I will make a point to keep using plastic. Civil disobedience is a must as they push stupid shit like this and force us to conform to their will.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Default Bags & Take out boxes illegal per CO Interest Group

On a related note, I noticed stacks of paper bags at my local Walmart.

I guess Walmart supports the rape and destruction of our planet through deforestation? Wasn?t that the narrative when everyone switched from paper to plastic years ago?

If people gave a shit about the health and wellbeing of our planet they would support and promote genocide. Drastically reducing the population of the planet is a much better solution than trying to decide what kind of bags those billions of people should be using.

I am surprised that the ZPG Zero Population Growth movement has not become popular again.
There was a lot of support in the late 60s and 70s, but it sure has faded away.

I’ve ordered from Amazon the same plastic bags that the stores used to give us. About 4? each. The reusable bags probably make more sense financially, but it’s worth it, simply out of spite. They can’t charge me a fee for my own bags.

I thought that maybe the whole covid thing was going to help thin the herd but an entire planet full of pussies hunkered down and hid. Maybe we?ll get a real pandemic that there is no hiding from and whatever?s wrong with our planet will suddenly correct itself.

In the meantime I think I?m going to go the Amazon plastic bag route.
