I was out by 11:50. Not even the fireworks and gunshots woke me.

the fireworks, and maybe gun shots mixed in, woke me up at midnight but failed to nudge me out of bed for a look see. Just told myself that 2023 is finally behind us and drifted back to sleep.
Laws aren't "preventable" measures. IOW, more gun laws won't stop mass shootings.
For many years I've said I was glad the prior year was over only for things to not change much lol. I really hope next NYE I can actually say it was a good year-providing I'm still around. Hope 2024 treats you all well, stay safe.
