    Default Gun shipping fees?

The last gun I had a dealer ship cost me $84, insurance was less than $3-gun value of $500. What are others paying, is this in range? FedEx and UPS won?t accept from a non-ffl. Thanks.

Cost me $80. That was for a heavy (weight wise) rifle, with $3500 ins.

Much easier to drive the 1.5 mi to the ffl, than 50 Rt to ups and deal with their b.s.

It all depends on the weight and the length of the package. Shipping costs have gone up, profit margins are very small compared to the time and manpower required. If you bring a firearm in for us to ship, you have to figure approx $100 give or take, depending on insurance. Almost half of that is the transfer fee. Transfer fees as well have exploded in the last years, many shops charging upwards of $75 (or more) for the transfer fee alone.

I appreciate the replies-I am not begrudging a business from making a profit. It has been awhile since any sale has gone out of state and with FedEx and UPS refusing to take handguns-not sure on long guns-from individuals I want to price my items accordingly.

You can still ship a long gun to a licensed entity, as a non-licensed entity. It's cheaper and easier, in my experience. But the recipient has to be properly licensed.

Fees and shipping have really degraded the cost of used guns in most of the US. Regulations cost money...
