Default **Update in post 18!** UPS claim?

On the 15th I bought some 45acp ammo from KY Imports on Gunbroker. Good price. Since the 16th the UPS website has it listed as "delivery date will be provided as soon as possible". KY has so far responded with "the tracking number was uploaded to GB when we shipped" and that's all, I can't even get them to confirm it really shipped. It's impossible to talk to a human at UPS. Today I filed a claim with UPS and pondering a dispute with my credit card company-if it really did leave KY then it's out of their hands and I feel it wouldn't be fair to them. I informed KY that I won't be providing feedback until I get some kind of resolution from UPS. Grrrrr.

Anyone else ever file a claim with UPS and if so how did it go? I've only ever filed one with the USPS and they paid though not the full value-that was fun to deal with.

Once I ordered a knife from an eBay seller to be shipped to my PO Box.

    Seller shipped via UPS.

UPS driver thought it would be smart to Google my name and drop it off at an address I hadn't lived at for over a year... whereupon the hoodrats immediately swiped it off the porch.

UPS wanted to blame me and accused me of committing "fraud."

Took two weeks to get a refund from the seller, who refused to refund until UPS insurance paid out.

Also, their employees steal. They steal A LOT. Never ship anything of any considerable value via UPS. If they don't steal it, they'll break it, or lose it, or leave it at an incorrect address. "But they're cheaper!"

Anyway, the SELLER needs to be the one to file the claim, since they insured it. KY Imports has been around a very long time. Give it till the end of the week.

Fun related fact I just recently learned.

In general, both FedEx and UPS don?t drug test their employees. They do with the CDL drivers for their big trucks but not the delivery drivers.

Could be unrelated to the original post but who knows.

if and when you reach someone. They're going to say the same thing usps has on their website.

ALERT: SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS THE U.S MAY DELAY FINAL DELIVERY OF YOUR MAIL AND PACKAGES.

even though a letter i sent with expected delivery of 1/19 has been sitting in (well somewhere) who knows where since it arrived... thursday the 18th. They used this excuse with me, this morning.

Looks like the seller printed a shipping label and ups doesn’t have possession of the package yet. The label hasn’t been scanned by ups.

How are you able to look up my package? I talked to a very nice lady at KY Imports this morning. She was able to see the last scan was on the 17th and then nothing. She said they have a rep at UPS to reach out to and will do whatever they can to help me out. Fingers crossed.

If you have a tracking number, Google UPS tracking and enter it there, then sign up for status updates.

Shipping & receiving at many warehouses is a mess. Often, I've ordered something, the label isn't printed for several days, then it ships a day or two later, then slowly moves through the system. International orders going through Customs can take well over a month.

I can’t. Usually "delivery date will be provided as soon as possible" means ups hasn’t had the package in their hands and has not been scanned yet. Go to the tracking page and go to detailed tracking. See what it says.

UPS drivers will sometimes photograph the package where it is dropped off at the delivery location. If taken, the photos are on the tracking page. I found this when I was ready to make a claim last week on some Vortex Razor binocs that were supposedly delivered. I had been waiting for the delivery because it had to be signed for. When email and text notices came that it had been delivered, the package was not to be found here or at any of my 3 close neighbor houses. Cams didn't show any come near my house. When I found the photo on the UPS tracking page I knew exactly where it was, at the side door of my cousin's house three doors away. Strange place for a delivery but at least I found it. The contract drivers cut corners when the regular UPS drivers know where to bring the package.

I'm not worried about their leaving packages that needs to be signed for because my location is very safe, and it can mess with my schedule. But I think that photos should be required for every delivery. So far it's just an option for drivers, but think of how much grief it could save everyone.

Tracking in general can be irrelevant at times.

I had a tracking number for a recent order that started out with a number and was awaiting pickup from the shipper. Then it showed picked up and an estimated delivery date. The next day the tracking number just showed that the shipment had been cancelled. This was the status for the duration of the shipments progress. Two weeks later I got my package but if I entered the tracking number on the package it still said the shipment has been cancelled.
