HB24-1174 Concealed Carry Permits & Training

Senate Bill 24-131

Would ban concealed carry in public parks, community centers, churches, hospitals (or any medical or health facility), banks, meseums, liquor stores, any property owned or leased by state or local government, adjacent parking lots of any of these places and other "sensitive areas" like any place a government meeting occurs, regardless of the government owns or leases it.

Another, SB 24-003 would allow CBI to investigate guns crimes...you know, to 'help' local law enforcement that is understaffed. But really, it's to bypass the local sheriff's who won't prosecute these new or future gun laws.

RMGO has sent a cease and desist tot eh legislature and Polis for 24-131 based on similar bill being found unconstitutional in other states.

These bills are NOT about deterring or stopping criminals - they exist for 2 reasons only.
(1) To make it more difficult, time consuming and costly for you to exercise your Constitutional right and thereby dissuade you from choosing to exercise said right.
(2) To the "costly" mentioned above, this increases the states coffers.

Could we merge all the various threads about ongoing/proposed Gun laws into one thread? Or would that get too confusing?

Out of committee. Still in the pipeline. Heard some of the testimony yesterday live from people in favor, they had 5-6 people. The people were the usual suspects. Females. Certain Minority group. High school students. Working for Everytown.

A terrible person to have voting on any pro-gun legislation.

It's funny. I can concealed carry most places, but Post Offices, known for people going postal, and schools, known for school shootings.

Interesting that liquor stores are listed, but bars arent.aren't. That's not even allowed in TX (with very few exceptions- I'm an exception at one place).

I thought that there were a lot of changes. When you add parking lots of these places, that means you can’t visit these places and just leave your gun in the car- and have to have it secured as per the other law.

Can't possess a firearm while under the influence so maybe that already covers the bar thing?

I believe this got watered down to college restrictions only, which is bad enough. Eventually, you just stop caring.
