Nothing I've read indicates a weapon is in orbit at this point. Only that Russia may have something in the works. And it's not like this is a new idea.

What I'm curious about is how they think that's gonna destroy our satellites without destroying others, either thru the blast or with the added amounts of debris that would be created. Maybe the Russians know they can't match us in a conventional war so taking out our sat comms might level the playing field for them a bit. Put us all back into the "stone age" (so to speak) of communications ability. They do have a knack for relying on low-tech to do a lot of things.
