    Default Annual Physical Question

So, I went in for my annual "wellness" (physical) checkup and, being over 65, was asked to fill out a basic questionnaire on my ability to take care of myself. Things like dressing, bathing, meal prep, housework, etc. Simple reasonable questions. The last part was about your household, do you live alone, does your house have loose rugs, stairs, handrails, walk in shower and finally, any fireairms, yes, they spelled it with an extra 'i'. Of course, I didn't check that one off because I don't have any fireairms and it's no business of theirs if I did.

Kind of reminds me of the rumors of school counselors asking kids if there are any guns in the house.

    Who asked you these questions?

What I mean is who is your physician.? What network are they part of? Is it government or is it private enterprise?

It was actually a single laminated page of questions, using a dry erase marker, they can wipe it clean and use it again. They have you fill it out in the waiting room. I've seen them before with just general health questions. Almost like a cheat sheet for the Doctor, he can look at it quick and ask questions if you marked anything concerning, (balance, dizziness, falling etc.).

It didn't have a place for your name, date or anything like that.

It is part of C.U. Medicine, I've gone to them for years, really a good place.

Just a weird question for a pre-wellness checkup and they really need to use spell-check.

At least their spelling error means you can sleep well knowing you didn?t lie during their inquisition because you truly don?t own any fireairms.

I've been asked that question for years at my annual checkup. Answer has been "no" for several years !!!

Similarly, I've been asked this on a couple of visits to my military Primary Care provider. It's been a few years though - and the same as StagLefty, the answer is "no" as leaving it blank implies "yes" and it's none of their damned business.

I do still get asked the "do you feel safe in your home?", "Are you having any thoughts of suicide?", etc. questions on each visit. They just don't ask about firearms anymore.

My favorite is “do you have trouble making decisions?”

To which I mark yes, then cross it out and mark no.

Funny, my PCP asks what I'm carrying that day... My ophthalmologist asked me to bring my 365SAS in so he could check it out and we plan to meet at the range so he can try it out.
I shoot, therefore I am. Vivere die!
