Sen. Rubio just stated that intel sources believe some ISIS militants may be infiltrating from the southern border. I'd be leery of attending concerts right now.

The Russians only had unarmed security at this venue. What they did have were plenty of walkthrough metal detectors, who stood watch over the carnage. Most concert venues around here at places like the Performing Arts Complex or Fillmore Auditorium on Colfax similarly have mechanisms to fully disarm patrons, but only have minimal armed security or LE presence on-site. The one scenario that is completely different are sporting events- plenty of fully-kitted LE at Broncos/Nuggets/Avalanche/Rockies or Buffs games that keep things under control on the inside, but still leave the crowds waiting outside the checkpoints pretty exposed.

Isis would claim a wet dream.

Looks like all parties were caught trying to get to Ukraine.

    Contrived maybe?

You mean, based on what "I chopped the apple tree down and would never abuse the opportunity of a tragedy", the unimpeachably honest Putin said, they were on their way to Ukraine?

This weekend A friend let me know that our state is crafting legislation to disarm the school resource officers.
That will add a block of time while armed officers respond to violence at a school.

More safe space for violence to happen.

We have had Islamist militant sleeper cells here since the late 90s.

Walked through a terrorist training camp outside rural Sidney NY around 2000.

My first encounter with Islamic militants in Denver was about 15 years ago, nearly interrupted a weapons training class in a basement apartment in Park Hill.

Interfered with an attempted bombing of a federal building about 5 years ago.

Shortly before NYE 2024 saw an obvious Islamic militant talking on an encrypted SAT phone in a parking lot.

They've been here for a long time and are very well networked and financed. The ones crossing the border are just reinforcements intending to link up with the cells already in place.

The spooky thing is their cadre are highly intelligent, some are Ivy League educated, wealthy, well trained, articulate, and speak with no discernable accent. The guy I ran into 5 years ago had a child with him and seemed very friendly and convincing with what seemed like a legitimate reason to be allowed into a locked vacant suite directly above a highly secure area... but rules.
