I think my range is 150$ per year with the 150$ work bond. But I can put 2 hours of work in per year to save that. Plus with limited memberships it’s great to go shoot all day and not see anyone there. Of course me and my some save 5$ each per event so really the membership pays for its self and I don’t have to deal with the public at bakers draw.

Now it seems my membership is $320 a year and I?m finding it hard to justify paying that amount for the two or three times I might use the facility.

Should I just drop my membership and think about joining years down the road when life puts me in a better place to enjoy my hobbies or do I just keep renewing year after year knowing some day I?ll get more use out of my membership?

    Thanks.
I would just cancel your membership, it’s a waste of money. You’re better just paying when you do go the range. I go every month, I pay $20 each visit. This is still cheaper than buying a membership for $499 for a year.

I had a membership to a indoor range that was $350 a year. It was any Pistol and 22 rifle only. I didn't shoot much so after the third year I decided to Join a weekly pistol league. I shot the league for 10 years then lost interest due to my skill not really improving. I only shot at the range like 3 times that were not the league days. I still liked to support the range because they had alot of youth shooting events so I kind of justified paying my dues by supporting the youth shooting sports. I Might sign up again but I dont know how they treat the initiation fees for former members, the initiation fee was $350.

I'd find out what the wait time is to join that range. If the wait is longer than 6 months, keep the membership.

Sammies a possibility but the minions have so many activities I only see them holidays and such.

Been planning to volunteer when MD directors need to offset work bond. Maybe learn a new game.

BRC is an 8 hour day and after 4 hours it?s just busy work.
They need to make work bond funner, because otherwise, we will just take the hit (or not.)

NCRGC did. 8-12 was work. 12 was burgers and hot dogs provided by the club. Then gun time. It was a work day everyone loved.

During winter hours it’s 10-12 with burgers at 12. Best part is March had 67 people show up to clean up, 1 stayed to shoot. I think it’s worth the little bit extra money to almost always have no one else at the range

This sounds really good to me, as an occasional range goer. If I can do my bond, have a hamburger, and shoot for a while, well, that's like a perfect day!

Promote it, and they will come!

My bonds so far at Golden Gun Club, are a lot more like work.

Spend 8 hours calling a match.
    Spend 4 hours building targets.

Nothing fun about that (other than seeing the match shooters!)

We had a $ plus work bond at BLGC but so few did the work, they voted it out and now you can request $10/hr up to 8(?) if you do pre-approved work there or sign up for a work detail. Don't know anyone that actually "charges" the club $10/hr to help, can't imagine anyone would.
