Even @ 5 KPH, that momentum along with mass, nothing is going to stop that movement. For the naysayers, i've suggested they roll through an empty parking lot @ 35-50 mph, then lock up their brakes. They'd be surprised, on dry pavement how far they travel.

That ship wasn't stopping. OR turning away (even with a working rudder) even given 2-3x the distance they were at.

In a tractor trailer loaded with 80,000# of cargo, far more stopping distance is required.

There were hundreds of CONEX containers on that boat... each of which weighs 5,000# EMPTY... and stopping in water is far more difficult than stopping on a highway where there is friction between rubber and asphalt, even if they dropped anchor.

Interesting article in the federalist, refuting claims that Francis Scott key was a racist slave owner.

Not that is will matter to the race hustlers actively rewriting history.

Key was well known as an active anti-slavery proponent. For over 40 years, he regularly represented enslaved African Americans in court pro bono, successfully winning freedom for hundreds of men, women, and children.

At the end of his life, Key himself explained, "No northern man began the world with more enthusiasm against slavery than I did." He added, "For forty years and upwards... I have always been endeavoring to aid in promoting [abolition], and do so still."

It is true that Key owned slaves, inheriting them from his father. But it is also true that he freed virtually all of them and personally ensured they received the necessary training and education to succeed in freedom.

For example, in one instance, Key traveled to Pennsylvania to emancipate his farm manager and then hired him as a freeman to continue working for him.

Slight correction. In Newtonian physics, momentum includes mass. p = mv where p is momentum, m is mass, v is velocity.
