    Negative.

One of the top rules is no ammo of any kind. Proper disposal of ammo by someone who does not intend to shoot it would likely flummox them.

The other big rule is no compensation for homemade zip guns (which people were building out of scrap specifically for such buyback events).

I know a lotta guys have cheap nonfunctional handguns like broken Jennings, Cobra, Sterling, Raven, Lorcin, or RG "Saturday Night Specials" with cast zinc frames and brittle firing pins... and $150 honestly seems a fair price for a worn out Hi Point pistol.

Then there are cheap ARs with polymer lowers or bad headspacing which were damaged beyond repair, or maybe a beater AK with a corroded bore and bent barrel you stripped all the parts from.

Hell, feel free to turn them in for giftcards.

And when G-Money goes back to prison for his third armed robbery, maybe his moms will find da switched Glock fawty wit da stendo in his sock drawer and turn that nightmare into groceries as well.

The major issue I have with such programs is first, they had no EMT on site in the event of an accident (ND, MVA, saw related, or even sunstroke). Second, I'm sure some rare and valuable antiques are being turned in, and if an FFL was on site he could separate that original Colt Peacemaker from the junk, document it, place it on consignment, and give the organization 75% of the sale price toward more gift cards... that way everyone wins.
