    Default Book of Eli

Anybody else seen it yet ? Went yesterday and really enjoyed it and the twist at the end. Don't want to ruin it for anyone. Before anyone goes on a flame about what was wrong with it try to remember it's a movie and for entertainment. Another forum had folks taking it way too serious. I'll be buying this when it makes it to DVD.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

I enjoyed it a lot, although I think some of the discussions about the book and the political tone of the movie are misplaced considering what happens at the end. And I definitely have to get a couch like that old couple have

Great movie. I'm agnostic, and the religious overtones really did nothing to bother me.

Some of the fight scenes were impressive, and I guess Denzel did all the fighting scenes himself in full, after training with a martial arts instructor.

The older couple reminds me a lot of the guys on AR15.com. But I cant believe nobody took the spoils after that fight. Seems unlikely in such a situation.

How was the depth of character development in this movie?

I'm totally serious; books have ruined movies for me.

By the end of the movie I didn't see any.

    Highlight for spoilers below.

At the end the Bible is placed on a shelf next to a Koran, a Torah and I think at least one other religious text. So I don't think the message of the movie was that the Bible was going to help rebuild civilization, but rather that the people at Alcatraz were trying to preserve humankind's culture.

I suppose there's the argument for the idea that Denzel was being guided by God which is how he could fight (and shoot) so well, but without a second viewing I think most of the times he did something that made you assume he was sighted it was based on one of his other senses (hearing and smell especially).

I agree with your hidden text. It looks totally bad ass, but when you think about it for a while, his problem becomes more apparent when you closely examine some of his actions. But certain things HAD to be devine intervention. Spoiler below
