    Default WTH was that?

Last night, watching the fireworks and the stars with the wife in the backyard.
Something passed right on top of us, pretty damn fast, it was gone in maybe 15 secs top.
    Fast.
    No sound.
    No lights, blinking or otherwise.
Flew way lower than satellites, quite lower than you regular passenger plane.
    Not a dot, quite larger.
To say it in wife's words it had the color and brightness of a cloud against the night sky, quite faint but definitely visible.
First time I saw something like that, definitely unidentified and certainly flying...
    I am at a loss.
    Anyone else saw it?

Probably a meteorite. I did not see it.

    Nope, I have seen those.
This was waay too dim to be a meteorite, barely visible against the night sky but definitely there.

At arms length, what size object would be comparable to the size of the object you saw? And did it have a clearly outlined shape?

    Between 1/16 and 1/32.
    Looked round-ish.

Do drones have lights or are they completely dark?

If they are LE drones and don’t bust a certain ceiling, they might have permission to go dark for better concealment against observation.

I read a news story today that said Denver and suburbs were deploying drones to catch "illegal fireworks displays" and other activity.

It wouldn't surprise me. We crossed the line into a surveillance state years ago. Homo bureaucratis takes deep offense when John Q. Public does something they don't approve of, laws and constitutions be damned.
