I heard that he was one of those people that made his presence felt just by being in the room (spiritual?). The same with Mohammed Ali and other figures.

He was a good guy in my opinion. He took over a real mess and ended up being the fall-guy for a lot of crap when this country was bloated with idiots.

I drove him on one of his visits to the West Bank (2008ish). Very nice man. He treated the security detail like we were real people (not very common with the fancy political types).

+1, his work and support of Habitat for Humanity was admirable.

Not cut out to be a politician, good potential to be a statesman if it were not for politics.

Jimmy Carter caused me a lot of pain. He should have stayed with peanut farming.

    James Earl Carter, 39th President

1st US President born in a hospital, Oct 1, 1924.

100 years. That's a good run, although it seems the last decade or so was pretty rough.
Even though i was still pretty young, I remember just about every one was happy his reign of stupidity ended. Thanks for bloating the federal beauracrocy and getting people killed....glad you left after four years. I guess compared to to others who intentionally tried to destroy the country, he wasn't that bad. Somehow we need to get back to the constitution and enforcing limited government authority so these idiots can't screw things up so badly.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

30 days is a bit excessive for a 1 term presidency that was a total failure.

President Carter was a disaster and complete failure as a President.
Even worse was him, LITERALLY, being carted out as prop while on his death bed, so he could vote for Kamala.

That said.......... as a person, I wish all due respect to his family during this time.
